NHRCM team headed by the Commissioner Oyunchimeg Purev departed for Huvsgul province on 5 May 2014.

In order to support civil society in protecting human rights the NHRCM signed a memorandum of understanding with the Caritas Czech NGO this year, and within the range of this memorandum it is working to provide prison staff and prisoners in the centralized prisons with human rights education and wareness through human rights training sessions and handbooks.

NHRCM has started conducting human rights training in prisons in UB and the regions aimed to raise human rights awareness of the prison staff of the General Authority for Implementing Court Decisions and to assist them in developing human rights based approach among themselves and conducting their functions with human rights based methods. The training is being conducted within the timely important and emerging human rights topics such as “Basic concepts of human rights,” “Human rights based approach and methodology,” “Ensuring human rights in imprisonment sentence,” “Prisoners’ rights to be free from forced labour,” and “Ethics and duties and responsibilities of the prison staff.
