NHRCM delegates participates in the 12th International Conference of the International Coordinating Committee

Jamsran participated in the 12th International Conference of the
International Coordinating Committee of the National Institutions for the
promotion and protection of human rights, which was hosted by the National
Human Rights Commission of Mexico and jointly organised by the OHCHR and the
ICC from 8-10 October 2015 in Merida, Yukatan, Mexico.
NHRIs of every region of the world assembled in
Merida to discuss and determine their roles within the 2030 agenda for
Sustainable Development. The Conference was held through sessions focusing
on "The Sustainable Development Goals - Setting
the scene”, "Implementation - Identifying and exploring the key role players”, "Means of
Implementation, The Role of NHRIS, Drawing on Best Practice From The MDGS And
Other Areas of Work”, "SDGS, NHRIS, Non Discrimnation & Vulnerable Groups”, "Follow Up
and Review at National Level”, and "Follow Up and Review at Regional & International Level”. The participants concluded the Conference on 10
October 2015 after having adopted Merida Declaration which encourages all NHRIs, in line with their mandates under the Paris
Principles, to collaborate in mutual capacity building and sharing of
experiences to contribute to a human rights-based approach to implementation of
the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
