Dr. Byambadorj Jamsran, Chief Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, has elected as Deputy Chairperson of Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF) and Member of the Governance Committee of the APF

Dr. Byambadorj Jamsran, Chief Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, has elected as Deputy Chairperson of Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF) and Member of the Governance Committee of the APFChief Commissioner Byambadorj Jamsran participated in the 23rd Annual Meeting of Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions in Hong Kong held from 18-19 September 2018. In accordance with the amendment made into the Constitution of APF by the previous meeting of the APF, an election for the Governance Committee of the APF, which is newly established structure, took place on 19 September 2018. The Commission has been actively engaged in APF activities and has successfully hosted the 20th APF Annual General Meeting and Bi-Annual Conference in 2015 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The Commission has served as Chief of the APF from 2015 to 2017. During its tenure, the Commission has effectively conducted advocacy activities and provided its technical assistance to the NHRIs under crisis and transition situation as emphasized by the APF Secretariat and other members during the 22nd APF Conference. Since 2017, the Commission has been serving as Deputy Chairperson of the APF and this time Chief Commissioner Byambadorj Jamsran has re-elected as Deputy Chairperson and Member of Governance Committee of the APF.
