“Human rights open day” in Khuvsgul aimag

The Mongolian National Human Rights Commission in cooperation with UNDP and local administrations are conducting “Human rights open day” campaign in 14 aimags, in order to monitor the implementation of human rights in rural areas.

On April 4-10, 2013 a “Human rights open day” took place in Khuvsgul aimag, led by NHRCM Commissioner Mrs. Oyunchimeg. During the open day, breaches in the performance of certain court decision enforcement offices and its sub-bodies, were found. Also NHRCM staff examined and analysed administrative acts issued by local authorities for the past 3 years. In addition, NHRCM organized special training sessions in different soums for local administration staff, law enforcement officers, frontier guards and ethnic minorities.

A number of people were involved directly in those events, and received a free consultation with a lawyer who could resolve their problems at the place.

Next “Human rights open day” will be held in Bulgan aimag on April 11 and 12, 2013.
