National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia conducted one-day training on topic “Being free of discrimination” on 14 November 2013.

This training, which involved prosecutors, aimed to improve the awareness on the protection of the rights of HIV/AIDS positive group population and knowledge of international treaties and conventions and domestic legislation and covered topics such as “Basic concept of HIV/AIDS,” “Population with high risks of HIV/AIDS contagion,” “International instruments and domestic legislation for protection of the rights of HIV and AIDS positive persons,” “Ensuring human rights during the investigation of the cases connected with HIV and AIDS,” and “psychological peculiarity of the HIV positive persons and legal assistance for them.”

During the training also the book release ceremony of the “Risks, rights, and health” published by the Global Commission on HIV and the Law. At the ceremony Oyunchimeg Purev, Commissioner of the NHRCM and delegates of the UNDP, Ministry of Health, and Office of the Prosecutor General addressed speeches. In addition, the copies of the book were contributed to the libraries of the Ministry of Health, Office of Prosecutor General, and the National Centre for Contagious Diseases.
