The 7th meeting of the National Human Rights Commission and Civil Society Organization held


The 7th meeting of NHRCM and CSO was held in December 16th, 2013. During this meeting, NHRCM introduced a new rule of its Advisory board, presented information of CSOs which were involved in a bid for small grants in 2014 under the project of UNDP “Strengthening national human rights oversight capacity in Mongolia”, and gave information on NHRCM activities jointly conducted with CSOs in 2013 and determined priorities of the cooperation in next year.

National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia has an Advisory Board which provides diversity and pluralism in its activities comprising civil society organizations that work in the human rights fields such as rights of the child, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, etc. Advisory board members convene its meeting quarterly and share their opinions about problems.

While the first Advisory board was established in March 4th 2002 with 11 members including Mongolian Amnesty International and National Center against Violence, today it is working with 21 members, so the rules and members of this board  is due to be renewed.

NHRC holds a meeting involving representatives of civil society in order to give support to participation of these organizations and ensure pluralism

During the meeting, the NHRCM and the UNDP project “Strengthening national human rights oversight capacity in Mongolia” introduced the organizations that were selected to be given small grants announced for the 2nd year.

Developing the of valuation of impact on human rights condition in Mongolia” project drafted by “Civil Solution” (NGO) , “One-Stop-Shop Pilot Project” by “Branch of the National Center against Violence in Darkhan-Uul province ” (NGO) , “Human rights-ground for all” project by Orkhon province sector the branch of “Gal Golomt National movement”(NGO), “university without sexual harassment” project by “Young women for change” (NGO), “ database of information on Leadership despotism and sexual harassment in the work place” project  by  “Law is our life center” (NGO) are selected to be awarded the grants to strengthen civil society organizations working in the filed of human rights.
