The Mongolian National Human Rights Commission in cooperation with UNDP and local administrations are conducting “Human rights open day” campaign in 14 aimags, in order to monitor the implementation of human rights in rural areas.
NHRCM’s Chief Commissioner and its working team have organized a “Human rights open day” in several aimags in order to conduct inquiry at public offices and to monitor the implementation of human rights on-site, and also the working team received some complaints from individual persons and gave them corresponding legal advices.
National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia submitted “12th report on human rights and freedoms in Mongolia” to Mr. Enkhbold Zandaahuu, Speaker of the State Great Khural on 5 April 2013. This report is composed of 4 chapters, namely “Mining and human rights,” “The Rights of children,” “Situation of human rights of LGBT people in Mongolia,” and “Implementation of the recommendations given by the United Nations human rights mechanisms.”
In connection with the expiry of a term of office of Commissioners of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, the State Great Hural adopted Resolution 14 on the appointment of new Commissioners on 31 January 2013. National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia consists of three Commisioners, each of whom, according to its Law, shall be a Mongolian citizen of high legal and political qualification, with appropriate knowledge and experience in human rights, with a clean criminal record and who has reached the age of 35.
As Universal Declaration for Human Rights was adopted on 10 December 1948, this historic day has since been celebrated as “Human rights day” throughout the world. Human rights organizations celebrate the Human rights day by carrying out wide scale promotional activities under a slogan made by the United Nations’ Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights every year.
Chief Commissioner Mr. J.Byambadorj and Commissioner Mr. J.Dashdorj participated in the 11th International Conference of International Coordinating Committee of National Human Rights Institutions, held in Amman, the Kingdom of Jordan from 5-7 November, 2012.
