NHRCM chairs the 1st session of the ICC 29th General Meeting

 The 29^thGeneral Meeting of the International Coordinating Committee of the national institutions for the promotion and protection of the human rights and freedoms was held in Geneva, Switzerland from 21 to 23 March 2016. This time the NHRIs discussed a number of issues such as urgent human rights problems emerging at international level and steps to improve organization of NHRIs, their regional and international networks. Tuesday morning session was chaired by Prof. Byambadorj Jamsran, Chief Commissioner of the NHRCM and Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Forum of the national human rights institutions, and the NHRIs discussed their activities conducted at the first stage of implementation of the goals of 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development, which was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations.

During the ICC General Meeting Prof. Byambadorj Jamsran, Chief Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, and Prof. Jonas Christofferson, Director of the Danish Institute for Human Rights, signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation for the term of 4 years.
