‘Journalists for Human Rights’ Club holds its regular meeting ‘Journalists for Human Rights’ Club holds its regular meeting on 12 March 2016. At the meeting Ms. T.Enkhtsetseg, Governance Expert of the ‘Sustainable Artisanal Mining’ project of the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency, presented on the activities conducted within the scope of the ‘Sustainable Artisanal Mining’ project. Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency launched ‘Sustainable Artisanal Mining’ project on 2005, and since then it has undertaken a number of activities to have artisanal miners’ activities comply with international norms and standards and compensate damage incurred to the environment, help them integrate into unified organization by forming partnerships, have them involved in social insurance and health services, and promote their children’s right to education, which results in positive changes. For instance, 29 percent of the artisanal miners are insured in social insurance, and local folks started implementing land rehabilitation activities in voluntary base. This project will continue until the end of 2018.

In addition, Altangerel Choijoo, Head of the Policy Analysis and Human Rights Education Division of the National Human Rights Commission briefed on activities conducted by the NHRCM recently.
