Chief Commissioner Byambadorj Jamsran had a meeting
with Ms.Shazeera Zawawi, Asia Pacific Programme Officer of the Association for
the Prevention of Torture, and Mr. Ben Buckland, NHRI Advisor, on 9 March 2016.
At the beginning of the meeting Prof. Byambadorj Jamsran briefed on activities
of the NHRCM and its efforts and achievements in preventing from torture and
its ongoing actions to establish national preventive mechanism in Mongolia. Ms.Shazeera Zawawi
commended Mongolia is publicly fighting against torture at national level and
showing good example at regional level and said she is interested in learning development
which has appeared since Mongolia ratified the Optional Protocol to the
Convention against Torture.
