Within the framework of UNDP funded "Towards a professional and citizen-centred civil service” project to be implemented from 2018-2021, the Commission’s working group headed by Commissioner Oyunchimeg Purev has organized a training- of -trainers on "Gender and Human Rights” in Khovd soum, Khovd province from 10-12 September 2018. The training-of-trainers involved around 80 human resource officers of public administration from four provinces, namely Bayankhongor, Zavkhan, Govi-Altai and Khovd. The participants received a human rights trainer’s certificate following their successful completion of the training.
It is crucial to train human resource and gender officers at rural areas in human rights and gender issues so that they can conduct a capacity building training for local public officers about their roles and responsibilities in promoting gender equality and contribute to gender mainstreaming in public sector. The training-of-trainers on "Gender and Human Rights” was organized in eastern provinces of Mongolia last year and this training will be continued in Ulgii, Bayan-Ulgii province from 13-14 September 2018 involving civil servants from Uvs and Bayan-Ulgii provinces.
